The New Haven Green is a vibrant, 16-acre public space that has been at the heart of our city since 1638. It has served as a central marketplace, meeting space, and civic hub for almost 400 years. Recognized as a National Historic Landmark, it has witnessed pivotal moments in American history and was once the city’s primary burial ground.

Today, The Green hosts concerts, festivals, art installations, and community events such as the International Festival of Arts & Ideas, Puerto Rican Festival, Black Wall Street Festival, Wake Up The Green, and New Year New Haven. Managed by the Committee of the Proprietors of The New Haven Green, this iconic space remains open to all—inviting families, artists, students, and organizations to gather, celebrate, and create lasting memories.
